Apricot & Cardamom Doogh

Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain yogurt

  • 1 cup cold water

  • 1/2 cup apricot puree (made from fresh or dried apricots)

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom

  • 1 teaspoon honey or sweetener of your choice (optional)

  • Ice cubes (optional)

  • Sliced apricots or cardamom pods for garnish (optional)

Preparations

  • In a blender or food processor, blend the apricots until smooth to make the apricot puree.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the plain yogurt and cold water until well combined and smooth.

  • Add the apricot puree and ground cardamom to the yogurt mixture. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.

  • If desired, add honey or sweetener to taste. This step is optional and depends on your preference and the sweetness of the apricots.

  • If desired, you can add a few ice cubes to the doogh to chill it further.

  • Give the doogh a final stir before serving.

  • Pour the Apricot and Cardamom Doogh into individual glasses.

  • If desired, garnish each glass with sliced apricots or a cardamom pod for an extra touch of presentation.
